Brain Bee Challenge

Registrations are now open for the 2020 Brain Bee Challenge! The brain is our final great frontier for exploration and the Australian and New Zealand Brain Bee Challenge (ABBC & NZBBC) is an exciting competition for high school students in Years 10 (Australia).

The Brain Bee Challenge is an opportunity to learn about the brain and its functions, neuroscience research, careers in neuroscience, and to dispel misconceptions about neurological and mental illnesses.

How will Brain Bee work in 2020?

Students progress through a series of rounds:
Round 1 will be conducted in your school using EP
Round 2 is held at the State level (Australia) and at the Island level (NZ)
Round 3 is the National finals - this is held at the annual meeting of neuroscientists from Australia and New Zealand, the Australasian Neuroscience Society!

The winner and their parents will be invited to attend the International Brain Bee Challenge. One of your students could be the Brain Bee World Champion for 2021!

When does the Brain Bee competition take place?
Round 1 of the 2020 ABBC/NZBBC Competition will take place across March. Round 2 will be carried out across June-August, and Round 3 in December.
