Pastoral & Wellbeing

Pastoral care at Marymount is the quiet, steady presence that carries students from their first day in Year 7 to their final steps in Year 12. It's a community that walks with them, believes in them and helps them grow into the young people they are becoming.
Across all year levels, pastoral care at Marymount is more than a program. It is a culture of wellbeing, belonging and hope. It is the assurance that as students' journey from childhood to young adulthood, they are held by a community that sees them, supports them and walks with them every step of the way.

Pastoral Care: Every Student Known

Pastoral Care is woven into the rhythm of each day. Every student belongs to a pastoral group led by a teacher who knows them well - someone who teaches them, listens to them and stands beside them through the changing seasons of adolescence. This daily connection forms the heart of our care, giving students a place where they are seen, supported and understood.

Across all year levels, this foundation is strengthened by Heads and Assistant Heads of Year, counsellors, and the College Leadership Team. Together, they create a network of care that grows with students as they move through the College, ensuring no young person walks their journey alone.

Wellbeing at Marymount is holistic nurturing the emotional, social, spiritual and academic dimensions of each student. It is present in the conversations we have, the relationships we build and the values we live each day.

Peer Support & Leadership

Leadership at Marymount begins with welcome. From their earliest weeks, Year 7 students are guided by trained Year 11 Peer Leaders who help them navigate new routines, new spaces and new friendships. This spirit of mentorship becomes part of the culture with older students lifting younger ones, modelling kindness, courage and connection.

Leadership at Marymount grows quietly and authentically as students move through Years 7–12. It shows itself in the everyday moments from the classroom to the oval, on stage and in acts of service, as well as in formal roles such as pastoral representatives, Student Teacher Advisory Council members and senior mentors.
