At Marymount College, faith is the gentle current that moves beneath everything we do. Our community is shaped by a dual charism: the gracious abundance of Mary and the peace‑filled spirit of St Francis. Together, they call us to live with compassion, humility, courage and hope, forming young people who seek goodness in themselves and in the world around them.
Students are invited to grow in their understanding of God, deepen their spirituality and explore what it means to live the Gospel with integrity and joy. This is explored in the way we learn, the way we treat one another and the way we gather in prayer and reflection.
Social justice at Marymount is lived, not lectured. It's the call to see the dignity in every person and to act with courage, compassion and conviction. Through classroom learning, service opportunities and real‑world engagement, students come to understand the inequalities that shape our world and their responsibility to respond. Whether advocating for the vulnerable, supporting local initiatives or standing in solidarity with those on the margins, our young people learn that justice is not an abstract idea but a way of walking gently, bravely and generously with others.
Our commitment to service is lived each term through support for key Catholic charities:
- Caritas Australia - Term 1
- Rosies: Friends on the Street - Term 2
- St Vincent de Paul Society - Term 3
- Catholic Mission - Term 4
These partnerships invite students to act with compassion, generosity and courage, living out our call to serve others.
Our College is part of the wider Burleigh Catholic Parish, a vibrant community with deep local roots and a rich history of faith on Yugambeh Country. This connection grounds us in place and tradition and offers students and families opportunities to participate in parish life, liturgy and service.
Peace Prayer of St Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love
Where there is injury, pardon
Where there is doubt, faith
Where there is despair, hope
Where there is darkness, light
Where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and
it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
