Recently, 28 brilliant minds recently descended onto Hillcrest College to compete in the Annual Science and Engineering Challenge.

This nationwide program is coordinated by Griffith University and run by the University of Newcastle. Students were grouped into teams and completed against other Gold Coast Colleges in various events. A sample of the events required students to quickly break codes, build a Mars rover, design the most aerodynamic plane wings, build earthquake proofs towers, and construct the lightest and strongest bridge. Points were awarded to each team based on their placement in the various events.

These points then accumulated to an overall Marymount College total which saw us take out the entire competition!
