Anzac Liturgy

ANZAC Service

As we gathered for our College ANZAC service, we were reminded of the profound significance of this day in honouring the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country with unwavering courage and dedication.

Our service was a poignant reminder of the values that define the ANZAC spirit of Mateship, Endurance, Courage, and Ingenuity.  We were honoured to have Mr Noel Patterson from the Burleigh Heads RSL – Sub Branch as one of our guest speakers, who eloquently connected the essence of these values to the lives of our students in the present day.  Mr Patterson’s words resonated deeply, reminding us all of the timeless relevance of the ANZAC legacy and its enduring impact on our national identity.

We also extend our gratitude to the very reverend Fr Morgan Batt for his explanation of the significance and meaning behind his medals, offering us a glimpse into his time in the armed forces. Fr Batt’s insights provided a layer of understanding deepening the appreciation for the sacrifices made by those who have served our country.

Throughout the service our students demonstrated their utmost respect, reflecting the relevance and gratitude that ANZAC Day deserves. Our college captains Ruby Allen and Cooper Bai guided us respectfully through the service as our Master of Ceremonies.

Special recognition is also due to Hayler Gravina, who played the Last Post providing a poignant moment of reflection followed by Holly Wilson leading the school beautifully in the National Anthem. Jem Nolan touched the hearts of all in attendance with his stirring performance of “True Blue” serving as a powerful tribute to all service men and women and the ANZAC Spirit.

As we pause this week to remember the honour, courage and sacrifice of our service men and women, let us also express our deepest gratitude to all who have served and continue to serve our country.  Let us carry forward the lessons of the ANZAC spirit to live on in our hearts and actions each day.
